Bahia Suenos/October
October in Baja is laid back; the fishing pressure is off, crowds are gone, and people start moving at a more relaxed pace. It is a time when the desert blooms and the fishing explodes. Both inshore and offshore fishing are in full swing, which also helps to spread out anglers and create some space.
After the August/Sept rain has ended, stable weather moves back into the East Cape of Baja. The desert turns to green and blooms. By this time of year the water has stabilized and temperatures have begun to drop. It is a time when there are temperate zones for a variety of fish and we tend to see the largest number of species this time of year. Offshore; billfish, big dorado and tuna are frequenting the Buoys (FADS) set in deep water by the captains and fishing tournament competitors.
Inshore, roosterfish are beginning to group for migration and jacks, trevally, pompano are all taking advantage of the stable conditions and abundance of food.
If you are looking for a laid back relaxed fishing trip at the pace of Old Baja, October on the East Cape might be just the ticket.
