Spring and summer fishing Magdalena Bay May/June/July
Over the last couple of seasons we have discovered roosterfish feeding on sandy flats. Imagine roosterfish tailing like permit, or schooled up pushing wakes across glassy water. Where the excitement of beach fishing involves searching shorelines, racing ahead and casting to cruising roosters, the flats game is about stealth, gentle accurate casting and a good presentation. This is a whole new challenge for Baja’s most prized and wily fish.
During late spring and summer months, the bay, beaches and mangroves in and around Magdalena Bay have incredible fishing to offer. Large schools of roosterfish, golden trevally, snook, corvina even smaller bonefish cruise the beaches, flats and in the bay feeding on baitfish, shrimp and crustaceans. Most of these fish have not seen flies and are aggressive eaters.
